SweiverSweiver (pronounced "swee-ver") is a project with two sides. The main project is to create an incredibly generic code base for review-style websites - no matter what the review subject is. As I already run a well-established music review magazine, I decided to test out the code on something else and an entertainment website has been started to test out the code.

The concept behind Sweiver is that the writers can self-publish articles and the unique selling point is that the individual writer can add an advert or affiliate link for each article they contribute, giving them the opportunity to make a modest income from their work. Alongside the writer-advert, the site manager can also place advert blocks on the page to pay for the running of the site and for their editorial time.

You can see the website in action at www.sweiver.co.uk with reviews penned by Dave Gregory, Martin Thomas and myself. There is also a new implementation of the Sweiver codebase on www.the-restaurant-index.co.uk, which has included a migration of 2,000 listings from a previous database.
