Careless

Careless has seen many a re-incarnation, but I played drums for the rock-version of Careless when they originally formed in the 90s. The original line up was:

James - Guitar and vocals

Derek - Lead guitar

Mark - Bass

Steve - Drums

Derek was later replaced by Paul, which caused quite a shift in the sound - the original sound was jangly indie / rock with loads of delay on the guitars. The new sound was heavily Kula-Shaker influenced. It was an interesting sound, but it didn't produce any worthwhile new material.

I left Careless to pursue other interests, but did play a one off show with James and Christian, who later formed the pop-punk version of the band with Christian playing a fundamental role on guitar and backing vocals. That period is probably the most successful time for Careless in terms of song-writing and prolific live performance.
