Following on from my articles on HTML 5 Badges and on what HTML 5 really means, I today listened to an excellent talk from Bruce Lawson on HTML 5. Clearly, Bruce feels even more strongly about people using HTML 5 as a blanket term for HTML 5, CSS 3 and "other" funky web stuff - so much so, he has attempted to clear things up.

Bruce has coined the term "NEWT", which means "New Exciting Web Technologies". NEWT includes HTML5, CSS 3, SVG, XHR2, Geolocation, Web Sockets, WOFF, Web DB, IndexedDB, WebGL and all the other new tech that we're all playing with. This frees up "HTML 5" to mean exactly what it should!

In tribute to this, and using the ace Newt logo from Rob Winters, I have created a NEWT badge to use on my home page. You can hit up my home page, or view this image of the bottom corner...
