Get To Know Your Social Audience

These days, social media is rather fragmented. Each individual has to decide where they want to hang out, whether it be Twitter, Facebook, MySpace (it still exists), Google+ or any one of a massive list of potential online haunts. Quite often, the selection is based on where your real-life friends are hanging out, so if they are mostly on Twitter, you'll join up there to get involved in the conversation, or if they are mostly on Facebook then that is where you'll head.

For the New Year, I created a new design for my website. For the casual visitor, it is a subtle lavender colour with steel blue text and a slight peel-off effect at the bottom of the content area. It's a largely graphic-free design, intended to be clear and bold. The text is made more digestible with big line-spacing.

For the more technical, I designed the site using HTML 5 with some subtle use of CSS 3.

The design was created as a Swift Point template and it will be available as a theme for users of the Swift Point content management system.
