The latest version of the Swift Point Content Management System was released today and the improvements are staggering. A lot has been achieved in a short time and the project has been fast to react to the features suggested by its user group.
The reasons for the success of this project are down to several factors.
- The overall vision for the project is very strong. There's no doubt about what Swift Point is supposed to achieve. The vision is shared and controlled by a small group who decide what features should make it into production.
- The standards for code are very strict and the principles for the design are well defined. This makes it easier to decide whether a given solution fits the architecture of the system. The coding standards are principle-based.
- The entire project runs off of user-stories - not unwieldy specifications.
The Swift Point CMS team can be rightly proud of the progress to date.
